Deadlines are important. Having good support to keep you on track never hurt anyone, and while Evernote and Box have great built-in tools to help you with this, being able to visualize all of your important dates from one location brings a new dimension of benefits all of its own.

New features for Evernote & Box on Mohiomap!

Deadlines are important. Having good support to keep you on track never hurt anyone, and while Evernote and Box have great built-in tools to help you with this, being able to visualize all of your important dates from one location brings a new dimension of benefits all of its own.

With that said, and what you’ve likely gathered from the title of this blog, we would like to introduce to you two new features now available on Mohiomap - The world of Evernote Reminders and Box Tasks as you’ve never seen before.

With that said, starting with Reminders let’s get into it!

Evernote Reminders

Reminders in Evernote are a great way to manage your long-term and short-term deadlines. This feature allows you to add alerts for individual notes inside your Evernote account and via email.” –Evernote Blog

key:Red – Due today.Purple – Overdue.Grey – CompletedGreen – all others.

The above from Evernote gives a good overview of what Evernote Reminders have to offer, but let us expand on that a little. When natively using reminders you are presented with a list like the one below; it’s simplistic, and does the job, however it can be a little difficult to visualize how soon those deadlines are, what perhaps is a little overdue, and generally to see the ‘bigger picture’.

As often is the case applying mind mapping to information, and giving you what you’re looking for visually, Mohiomap can give you an overview of just what is due and when in a simplistic but informative way. The below image shows the exact same reminders as above now visualized in Mohiomap.

Simple color coding and grouping of Reminders mean you can quickly identify what is fast approaching, what days are going to have you running off your feet, or what task you may have put off one day(s) too many, sorry Grandma… As long as your note has a reminder attached to it, it will show up in your graph automatically – giving you a better overview of your deadlines!

That’s about it for reminders, if you have any more question on the topic you can check out the reminders knowledgebase.

Otherwise, I did promise you two new features so next, let me introduce to you Box Tasks.

Box Tasks

While working with files on Box, you may have noticed a handy built in feature known as Tasks, this allows you (or any other person with permission) to assign a task(s) to be completed, as well assign people, should Jack be the man for the job.

If you are Jack, keeping on top of all these tasks might be something you struggle with, after all, you’re the man everyone wants! But you’ll be pleased to know we at Mohiomap have you covered. Just like Reminders, we now support Tasks!

Below we have a small example of what a task may look like on your Box files. As you can see Jack has completed the draft, but is still waiting on Jun and Christian to approve it before he can go ahead an publish the final copy.

Let us now take a look at how this translates to Mohiomap. While Jack is having a look at his documents he can see that there is 3 tasks attached to a file named ‘Reminders and Task Blog’, upon expanding these tasks he is presented with the view below.

Jack finds quickly that two of these task are his, they are highlighted in blue as well as attached to his personal Tag. You too can likely tell, one task has a nice completed check while the other is still pending as indicated by the exclamation mark in the corner. Both you and Jack are also able to see that “Check Draft” to is also pending – but this is not something for Jack to complete(as indicated in grey) so he must wait until the others get back to him on his draft.

With Mohiomap, it becomes quick and easy to identify what task belongs to you) and what doesn’t as well as being able to see what is and isn’t yet completed.

These are just two features in a list of many we hope to bring to the table for you. We’re already working on further improvements to both Evernote Reminders as well as Box Tasks. We would love your feedback on these, as well as what you would like to see in the future. Please get in touch at hello@moh.io or give us feedback here!

So, if you ever find yourself getting lost in a sea of due dates let us throw you a pair of floaties.
