One of our goals with Mohiomap is to not only provide a visualization tool to explore and navigate your Evernote account, but to also open up new and intuitive ways to actively edit and modify the content within. That’s why we are excited to release our first “Actionable Feature”: Tagging.

Tagging allows you to assign or unassign tags to/from notes directly from Mohiomap. It introduces a new concept to the Mohiomap graph, the Action Icon.

This icon will be the basis for several of our Actionable Features from now on, and it appears on the bottom right corner of certain nodes when hovering over or selecting those. For example:

Hover over the node to see the action icon

To assign a tag to a note, firstly hover your cursor over a note, then drag the Action Icon to a tag. In the image below, we have dragged the Action Icon from the Heaven me such uses send... note to the scene iii tag, which is encircled in a blue dotted outline to show that it can be assigned to that note (as opposed to red dotted outlines, which indicate tags that can be unassigned). Also notice the tooltip which reads “release here to add this tag” to indicate that an action is available:

As a result, the note is assigned to two tags, design ideas and mockups (shown by the connections between those two nodes):

Now the note has has 2 assigned tags

Alternatively, you can also drag the Action Icon from a tag to a note, eg. from Act IV to O! now, for ever.

Unassigning tags is done in a similar way; simply drag the Action Icon from a note to an already assigned tag, or vice versa. Look for the tags which are encircled in a red dotted outline – this indicates that which can be unasssigned to the current note.

Creating new Tags

Lastly, Mohiomap now allows you to create new tags directly from the graph. To do so, hover over a note and click the tag icon in the context menu

Hover over the note to create a new tag

When prompted, enter a name for the new tag, then click OK to create the tag.

Create a new tag within the pop-up

We hope that this new Actionable Feature will prove to be useful when interacting with your Evernote data through Mohiomap. If you have any comments or feedback for us, send us an email at hello@moh.io – we would love to hear what you think about the feature – and stay tuned for more upcoming Actionable Features!
